Week 31: What Students Actually Need From BAINT and the Latest Update in Our Journey So Far

Building has taught us something we did not fully understand when we started Students do not always need more information Sometimes they need a different way to understand the same information That difference has become more obvious as we have continued talking with students, testing ideas, and putting the BAINT demo in front of real people What students have been showing us Through our conversations with students from different academic backgrounds, we keep seeing different kinds of learning difficulties Some students struggle because explanations move too quickly Some understand the theory but struggle when they have to apply it practically Some need diagrams or visual explanations Some need a concept broken into smaller steps Some need context before the concept makes sense Others simply need the same idea explained in a completely different way This has changed how we think about BAINT The goal is not to make BAINT give longer answers The goal is to understand what kind of help the student actually needs A student struggling with a mathematical calculation may need a step by step solution An engineering student may need a practical example A student studying a biological structure may need a visual explanation A history student may need the events connected through context and sequence The answer alone is not always the solution The way we reach the answer matters too The latest update in our journey BAINT is early,testing talking to students Also learning from people who use or see the demo And some of the things we have built are also being reconsidered We are learning that building an AI learning assistant is not about adding as many features as possible Sometimes the right move is to remove something Sometimes the interface needs to become simpler Sometimes a feature sounds useful when building it, but becomes less important after listening to students That is part of where we are now We are taking what students have told us and using it to decide what BAINT should keep, what should change, and what should come next We are not trying to pretend that everything has already been figured out We are trying to keep learning until we get closer to something that genuinely helps We are also looking for better hardware One practical challenge we continue to face is the device we use to build BAINT We are building with limited resources, and having a better development device would help us move faster with testing, development and the next stages of the product So if anyone has a fairly used laptop or development device that they no longer need and would be willing to support the work with, we are open to hearing from you It does not have to be new What matters is having something reliable enough to help us build and test faster If you are someone who believes in what we are trying to build and would like to support BAINT in that way, you can reach us at baintcomputer@gmail.com What comes next For now, we are staying close to the students More conversations More testing More learning More improvements to the demo More connections with people building in education and technology And more work behind the scenes We are still figuring out exactly what BAINT should become But the direction is becoming clearer Students need different ways into the same concept And that is something we want BAINT to understand better We started BAINT because we believe having information is not the same as understanding That belief has not changed If anything, the students we have spoken with have made it stronger Still listening,learning,connecting And building BAINT 🌱📚 Lebel Bros Founder, BAINT Computer
